Beaver Slumber Night
It was my first night sleeping away from home and I was a little nervous but I realised that all of the other Beaver Scouts were the same and that made me feel a little better. My parents dropped me off at our Scout Den, gave me my torch and sleeping bag and our Elders said that there were lots of games planned for the night.
We broke up into our Lodges and put our sleeping bags and torches away in our corner. The Elders even had a tent for each of us to put up indoors, wow! Then we all came together and with the help of our Elders we played a fantastic game of four corners, followed by arts and crafts were we got to make our very own finger puppets.
That night for supper we all got HUGE marshmallows in our hot chocolate and our Elders told us some great stories as we all sat around in a circle in our sleeping bags.
The next morning after we had cleaned up and played a few games outside on the field including blindman follow the leader. My parents came to pick me up and I realised that I hadn’t even thought about them all night I was having so much fun. It was my first night sleeping away from home. It was a great adventure and I can’t wait for the next Beaver Slumber Night.
