Beavers Camping

After we did our first slumber night in the den we decided that we would like to go camping like all the other scouts. Our leaders thought that this was a great idea and they helped us get ready. We decided that we would like to do another slumber night and the leaders suggested that we do it in another groups den so we could meet other Beaver Scouts and make new friends. Then we could do a swap and they could come over to our den for a night.

Our second slumber night was even more fun that the first as we all knew much more than the first time. We helped the Elders put up the tents so we would be able to help again when we went camping and we also helped with some of the cooking, but the Elders looked after most of it while we were off having fun.

When summer finally came we got ready for our first outdoor camp by learning what to bring on a camp and how to pack our bags. The Elder met our parents on night and told them about all our big plans for the camp and they got excited too. The camp was even more amazing than the slumber nights in the den. We were outside all the time and even though there was a little rain we didn’t mind as out tents were waterproof. So many of us had never camped but when we got home we all wanted to go straight back out and go camping again. We hope to do even more next year
