Darkness into Light
Scouting Ireland is supporting Pieta House in its Annual Fundraiser called “Darkness into Light”. We will be helping run all fourteen events around the country. The fourteen venues are: Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Ennis, Killarney, Waterford, Roscrea, Boyle, Dungarvan, Cavan, Wicklow, Mountmellick and Westport. Our involvement at the events ranges from marshalling to walk to co-ordinating the walk entirely!
Starting while it's still dark, and finishing as dawn is breaking, the Darkness into Light event is taking place on Saturday morning, 12th May 2012. The 5km course can be walked, skipped, jogged or ran! There will be a special running lane for the hard core enthusiasts, and people are more than welcome to push children in buggies or bring along their dogs! This is very much a family event, and the course can be completed in your own time. This is a beautiful and symbolic event, and hopefully we will have an even bigger turnout than last year.
