What is Roverway?

Like lots of questions in Scouting, the answer to this might just depend on who you ask! Roverway is a fabulous Camp where 3000 or 4,000 Rovers and Ventures get to hang together, chill, or go mental doing lots of activities together. Roverway is a chance to get inside the culture of a country while having great fun doing it. Roverway is an opportunity for personal challenge, group challenge and new adventure. But whether it’s Fun, Adventure or Challenge you want Roverway is one of the best experiences you’re likely to have in your Scouting life.

9 days in Finland

You go with your own group (5 – 15 of you), or you can be part of an ‘Irish Group’. The first 4 days you are on a ‘path’. A group of about 50 people together form a tribe, and each tribe will follow a different path. You’ll find much more on these in the next update, but for now there will be 60 paths of varying levels of skill and physical activity, you choose what will suit you best.
The last 4 days you will be part of an amazing camp in the magical Evo Forest, along with 3000 others, enjoying all of the madness and mayhem that 3000 people in one place creates, but with a Finnish twist.

Venture Scouts and Rover Scouts from 16 – 22 years

In fact if you were born anywhere in the years 1989 to 1996 then you can be a participant at Roverway in Finland next year. Your group will need one (max 2) ‘leaders’ also. This person is counted in your number and must be at least 18 years old.
Becoming a member of the International Service Team (IST) is another great way to be part of this great event. For this you just need to be born in 1988 or before, and be committed to giving your best to Scouting and Roverway. What you get in return is an experience to remember for a long time to come.

What do you get for your money?

First, to be clear that your flight is not included. You can probably get a better deal with a smaller group yourself , you may be going to a different part of Finland, you may wish to travel some other way, go early or stay longer, lots of good reasons. We can organise your flight if you like, and pass on the cost .
What it does include: The event fee; insurance, transfers, and 1 night’s hostel ; t-shirt, necker, some small promotional materials; a number of contingent weekends. All this for just €550.00
