Venture Scouts : Programme Ideas

Water activities can be Incorporated into your programme whether your Group is a Sea Scout one or not! Getting in touch with a Sea Scout Group near your could be the first step towards a very interesting (and probably wet) programme, while making new friends along the way!

Your Venture Group could do almost anything! With the help of a Sea Scout Group (if you're coming from a land backround) to give you advice and ensure you know the safety rules there are many activities you can enjoy! These include:

  • 24hour waterborne survival expeditions (consider a Venture expedition afloat!)
  • Swimming
  • Bivving afloat
  • Canoeing, kayaking, sailing, rowing, powerboating and rafting
  • Taking part in the Asgard Challenge and North West Small Ships Race

Water activities are very underused in our programmes, and for such a wonderful resource it's hard to think why!
