Postponement of World Scout Moot 2021

World Scout Moot 2021 postponed to 2022

As you are aware, the world has drastically changed in the last three months and will continue to change and adapt along with the COVID-19 Virus.

Ireland, like much of the world is currently in a lockdown situation, where travel is restricted, social distancing is required, and services and activities are suspended due to the global pandemic. We are hoping that over time these measures will be relaxed but at this stage, changes to this situation are very difficult to predict, not only in Ireland but across the globe.

Unfortunately, the 16th World Scout Moot is not immune to these changes.

On Thursday 14 May 2020, the World Scout Committee (WSC) considered the impact of the current COVID-19 worldwide health crisis on WOSM’s calendar of Events including the organisation of the 16th World Scout Moot (currently scheduled for 19 July to 29 July 2021) and voted unanimously to postpone the event to similar dates in 2022

Please be aware that this decision has not been taken lightly, but the safety of everyone and enjoyment of the event are of paramount importance to all. We hope that you understand the reasons behind this decision and we look forward to working with everyone  in Scouting Ireland to ensure we create a brilliant event in 2022.
