MAKING PERSONAL PROGRESS ON YOUR SCOUTING JOURNEY

Scouting takes a young person on a journey which encourages them to try new things and enables them to grow, challenging their attitudes and behaviours as they progress through the sections. Progression is recognised formally through our personal progression scheme and informally in the steps a Scout takes through the sections.

Personal Progression:

  • Encourages Scouts to set their own goals, to make a plan, and to achieve those goals
  • Covers all areas of growth (SPICES - Social, Physical, Intellectual, Character, Emotional, Spiritual Development)
  • Gives a path to follow, with regular reviews, and celebration of achievement

    It is about:
    • Gaining knowledge - Learning to know
    • Developing skills - Learning to do
    • Strengthening attitudes - Learning to be
