From July 9th to 13th, three patrols gathered at Lough Dan Scout & Eco Centre for Patrols in Action 2025. This year’s theme was Irish Mythology, with patrols assigned to one of five themed subcamps to encourage teamwork and meeting new people.
Scouts took part in a wide mix of activities. On the water, there was Open Canoeing, swimming, and a fun trebuchet water fight. They also built rafts and tested them on the lake.
On land, Scouts hiked the Lough Dan Loop, did orienteering and a walkie-talkie treasure hunt, and made friendship bracelets. There was also a relaxing Patrols in Action Spa! Other highlights included Swedish torch building, the Radio Scouting Base, and workshops on air activities, National Scout Centres, and Scouting Ireland governance.
The event was all about learning new skills, working together, and having fun, and it delivered on all fronts!
