96 Scouts from Knocklyon join 10,500 at Norwegian National Jamboree

A group of 96 members from the 112th Knocklyon Scout Group recently returned from an international adventure at Speidernes Landsleir 2025, the Norwegian National Jamboree held in Gjøvik from July 5th to 12th, 2025.

The Irish delegation included 17 Scouters, 56 Scouts, and 23 Venture Scouts, who joined over 10,500 participants from more than 30 countries for one of the largest youth gatherings in Scandinavia this year.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Lake Mjøsa and the city of Gjøvik, the week-long camp offered a mix of outdoor activities, cultural exchange, and traditional scouting spirit. From hikes through Norway’s Innlandet region to international campfire singalongs, participants were immersed in the essence of international friendship.
