Merit and Honour Awards have to be applied for by 31st March, 31st August and 31st December. The Awards Project Team will meet within 4–6 weeks of closing to deliberate on submissions.
Service Awards are awarded to adult Members and Associate Members of the Scouting Ireland aftercompletion of 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 years of adult service.
Merit Awards are for recognition of Service to Scouting above the Norm.
They are:
- Chief Scout Commendation
- Bronze Merit Award
- Silver Merit Award
- Gold Merit Award
- Order of Cu Chulainn
Honour Awards are for recognition of Scouting Under difficulties of acts of Bravery/Gallantry.
They are:
- Chief Scout Commendation
- Bronze Honour Award
- Silver Honour Award
- Gold Honour Award

Citations for these Awards should give detailed examples of how this Scouter has gone beyond the norm in their Scouting, please read the Awards Policy for further information and sample Citations.
