Applications for the Crean Challenge Expedition 2027 are now open!
Places are limited to 32 Scouts, giving participants the opportunity to take part in an unforgettable adventure inspired by the experiences of Irish explorer Tom Crean.
The Crean Challenge Expedition is an annual event for Scouts aged 13–15 years and takes place over an eight-month period, starting in July 2026 and culminating in a week-long expedition to Iceland in February 2027. It aims to promote teamwork in patrols, achieve common goals, and personally challenge participants along the way.
From the beginning of the programme through to the expedition, participants will develop skills in navigation, map reading, first aid, problem solving, teamwork, and expedition training in preparation for taking on the Icelandic elements.
Please Note: This event is by selection only. Experience, skills, and geographical spread will be considered as part of the selection process.
Applications will close at 5.00pm on 9th June 2026. All applicants will be contacted in due course after that date.
