Dublinia Scout County gathered in the distinguished surroundings of the Mansion House this week for a celebration of service, achievement and community spirit.
Leaders and volunteers from across the county assembled to honour those whose dedication sustains Scouting throughout the city. Anne Browne received her 35 Year Service Award, while David Kessie was recognised for 30 years of commitment. Aisling Kinsella and Millie Walsh were presented with the Commissioner Award, and John Hanrahan was honoured with the Scout Leader Emeritus Award in recognition of his lifelong contribution.
Youth achievement was equally to the fore. The 94th Walkinstown Scout Group secured a superb Phoenix Challenge victory, with the 91st Bluebell Inchicore Scout Group finishing in second place and continuing their strong tradition of excellence.
Kiernan Gildea added a special touch to proceedings by presenting Good Deed coins, a meaningful reminder that everyday acts of kindness and service remain at the heart of Scouting.
The 61st Merchants Quay Scout Group made a thoughtful presentation to the Office of the Lord Mayor, acknowledging their unique position as the Scout Group located closest to the Mansion House. Cllr David Coffey attended on behalf of the Lord Mayor, and Seán Sheehan, Chief Executive Officer of Scouting Ireland, joined the celebrations, offering warm and encouraging remarks.
County Commissioner Niall Kenny described the event as a wonderful afternoon to celebrate the people who make Scouting in Dublinia so strong. He thanked Seán Sheehan for his support, attendance and the generous words he shared.
The gathering served as a clear reminder that Scouting in Dublinia continues to thrive through the steady commitment of its volunteers and the enthusiasm of its young people.
