The preparations for the Irish Contingent attending the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk, 2027 are stepping up a level!

Our Jamboree Troops are coming together for their first meetups for the 360 Scouts who will participate in the Jamboree. These initial gatherings mark an important step as participants begin forming connections within their patrols and troops, setting the tone for the journey ahead.
They are joined by 40 incredible Troop Scouters, and over 160 IST volunteers, making this one of the largest Irish Contingents in recent years.

Our Contingent is inspired by Irish rivers, reflecting the idea of a shared journey from source to sea. Each troop is named in Irish after their local river, such as An Life, An Bhóinn, and An tSláine. Representing growth, community, and connection, Scouts will progress through their Jamboree experience with these themes at the fore.
Some troops are already bringing this to life in creative ways. An Laoi, based in Cork, recently hiked to the source of the River Lee at Gougane Barra. The troop’s youngest Scout collected water from the source, a simple but powerful moment symbolising the beginning of their shared journey.

As planning continues, our focus remains on preparation, training, and building a strong contingent community in the lead-up to what promises to be a memorable Jamboree. We are excited to share our journey with you - follow us @siwsjcontingent and keep an eye out for our Troops online too!
