Short-Term Volunteers at Larch Hill are Scouts and Guides who join us for a season to help run the centre. Volunteers are part of the day-to-day running of the centre and get involved in everything from welcoming guests to running activities and helping with meals.

What You’ll Be Doing
As an International Volunteer at Larch Hill, you’ll be part of the team that keeps the centre running and creates great experiences for our guests. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the daily operations of the centre
- Preparing and serving meals to guests
- Keeping all guest areas clean and welcoming
- Helping to run activity sessions and programmes
- Supporting events and ongoing improvement projects
- Assisting with general maintenance and groundskeeping
- Jumping in to help wherever you’re needed most
- Creating a positive and inclusive team environment
What You’ll Bring
Skills & Attitudes
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and ready to work in a multicultural team
- Open and welcoming to all guests and fellow volunteers
- Comfortable working outdoors and in busy or changing situations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in informal education and the outdoors
Helpful Experience (but not essential!)
- Customer service or hospitality experience
- Cooking for groups or kitchen work
- Outdoor skills (through Scouting or other activities)
- Familiarity with Scouting values and programmes
Requirements
- You must be 18 years or older at the start of the volunteering period
- Fluent English is required (additional languages are a bonus, but not essential)
