This month, Venture Scouts from across Ireland took part in Venture Challenge 2025, a five-day journey on foot covering over 100km.

Teams of Venture Scouts were dropped in different locations around the country and had to make their way to base camp using maps, teamwork, and their own two feet. Along the way, they worked on challenge projects, met friendly people, and faced all kinds of weather, from sunshine to heavy rain.

There were lots of fun moments too, including a visit from the Sweep Team’s mascot, Mr. Bó-jangles the cow, who said the teams were “moo-velous!”.
On the fourth day, all teams checked in safely after their final full day on the road. There was even a birthday celebration and a special meal with the Sweep Team.

The final day saw all the teams arrive at Castle Saunderson Scout Centre, tired but proud. They had finished the journey and were full of stories from the road. You can hear some of these on upcoming episodes of the Challengers Podcast.
Back at base, the Scouts took part in Emergency Adventure Skills. They built stretchers, practiced CPR, and learned how to help in emergencies.
Venture Challenge 2025 was a tough but amazing experience. Well done to all the Scouts, leaders, and volunteers who took part!
