Pat is a Programme Scouter with the Scout section in the 23rd Kildare (Sallins) Scout Group where he is also the Group Leader. Pat has been with the Sallins Group since 2013 and has been part of the team who has expanded the Group (which was founded in 2006) and its’ facilities in Sallins.
Pat was a Cub, Scout, Venturer, and Venture Leader with the 25th Cork (Cobh) Scout Group. He was elected to the board of Scouting Ireland on the 6th of October 2018 and was elected chairperson of the board in May 2021.
Professionally, Pat is an engineer and works for Analysys Mason, an international telecommunications, media and technology consultancy. Pat has overall responsibility for Analysys Mason's business in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. He is an experienced telecoms adviser, who has worked extensively in the design, implementation, and project management of fixed, wireless and sub-sea telecoms systems. Working for major government departments and public and private-sector organisations around the world, he has advised on ICT strategy, business planning, procurement, programme management, and network design and roll-out, as well as technical assurance and due diligence. Prior to joining Analysys Mason, Pat spent 12 years in the Irish Defence Forces as telecoms engineer and project manager. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and is also a past Chairperson of the IET Ireland network
